Vision of the University:

Goals of Arts and Sciences

The acquisition and mastery of the:

  1. Quantitative development and technological advancement competencies;
  2. Biological and physical scientific knowledge and competencies toward scientificity in attitudes;
  3. Linguistics, literary, and communicative cognition and competence in both speech and writing in English, Filipino and foreign languages; and
  4. Sociological, philosophical behavioural, kinaesthetic and aesthetic knowledge and competence to preserve Filipino culture for global participation.

Objectives of the Program

Course Description:

This course introduces the meaning of humanities, arts, and audio-visual education and with a brief survey of the history of art education in the Philippines and abroad; the current practices, philosophy and concepts in the teaching of arts, actual experiences with some art and art appreciation. This will provide students with professional training in the effective development, utilization and investigation of instructional aids. Emphasis would be made in planning, designing, and producing instructional materials.

General Objectives:

At the end of the course the student is expected to:

  1. Develop the skills needed in Art;
  2. Acquire the habits of making original arts;
  3. Initiates fun and enjoyment in visual art;
  4. Instil love and pride in Philippine Art;
  5. Appreciate the concept of teaching art;
  6. Give the History of Arts;
  7. Identify the Medium of Art;
  8. Paraphrase their understanding of studying humanities;
  9. Relate their studies of humanities into their lives;
  10. Utilize creativity in presentation of lesson;
  11. Enumerate the function of Arts;
  12. Point out the Medium of Music;
  13. Define Literature;
  14. Hone their perception on Art;
  15. Discover the different period of Art;
  16. Compare Asian Art from the Philippine Art.
